Cool Girls Science and Art Club was founded and named by second-graders with mentor Mary Golden in 2008. Each semester, the girls choose what they want to learn and Mary recruits volunteer mentors to share their passion for entrepreneurship, science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics. Mentors include noted e-STEAM professionals, university and high school students, older Cool Girls and family members.

We welcome girls in grades 1 through 5, including those home-schooled, to our 2016-2017 season of hands-on, inquiry-based e-STEAM experiences. Many of our activities are conducted outdoors and all begin and end with the enthusiastic inspiration and modification by Cool Girls themselves. This is their club and not a class.

In addition to our weekly after-school meetings, we offer occasional family + friends inclusive field trips via carpool at no charge (except venue admission tickets, if any). Our next free trip will be to the Denver Art Museum to see its Women of Abstract Expressionism show and make art in the studio on Saturday, September 17, from 1-3 PM. (RSVP ASAP to coolgirls dot scienceart at gmail dot com!)

To join us, register here. Parents are welcome to visit Cool Girls from time to time. The required form helps us tailor the program to your daughter’s interests and yours; it also alerts us to any allergies or other concerns, as well as provides the names of those authorized to pick her up.  If your daughter needs a confidential payment plan or a partial scholarship, please contact Mary Golden at coolgirls dot scienceart at gmail dot com.  No Cool Girl is turned away for financial reasons. Akin to a university, Cool Girls’ tuition covers only part of the costs of our program. We are grateful for the leadership of our girls and the support of their families and our volunteers, mentors, and donors.
